For many adolescents, keeping them in their homes while addressing behaviors and challenges leading to substance use is the best plan. Our outpatient day program in Maplewood does just that. Clients start in Phase 1. They will receive 16 hours of group therapy weekly and 1-2 hours of family programming weekly. They will also receive 1- 2 hours of individual therapy with their substance abuse counselor every week. Additionally, they receive their schooling onsite with their outpatient peers. Clients’ home school districts provide transportation to and from this program.

After about 6 – 8 weeks, depending on client progress, they will step down into Phase 2. Clients in this phase receive 2 hours of group therapy 2 nights weekly and 1 – 2 hours of family programming weekly. Clients will also receive 1 hour of individual therapy with their substance abuse counselor once every two weeks. This phase also lasts about 6 – 8 weeks, depending on client progress.

Therapeutic methods include 12 step work, cognitive behavioral techniques, motivational enhancement techniques, dialectical behavior therapy techniques, education on health, safety, family issues, behavioral goal setting, and more.

Please note, outpatient day services are available in our Maplewood location only at this time.
